Creating a Thai Tea Room
One of the healthiest drinks in the world is tea. This drink, which is concocted from leaves, herbs, and other plants, is packed with nutrients that cleanse the body, prevent disease, enhance performance, and improve bodily functions. It is also one of the best-tasting drinks around, being slightly and refreshingly bitter and having a cooling, astringent taste.
To enjoy the experience of drinking tea to the fullest-whether alone or with a few friends-you need to partake in it in a relaxing environment. If you have a small room or nook in your house with a window that overlooks a picturesque scene, you can convert that place easily into a Thai-themed tea room.
Start by placing a small table-and-chair set in the room, preferably near the window. The style and make of the set is up to you. For example, you may want one made of deep, hard wood with carvings on the sides to evoke a traditional or antique feel. Place a light- or red-coloured tablecloth over the table. A tablecloth that has laced and scalloped edges with country-inspired prints is perfect.
For the walls, paint them with red to pink colours. But for a truly Thai feel, try decorating them with light wallpaper that have floral or bird patterns. For the windows, hang a curtain with pink or floral designs.
Finally, add some knickknacks to accent the area. For example, you can place your priced tea set and a flower vase in the middle of the table. If you have an old bookshelf, put it up against the wall and place trinkets, Thai dolls, pottery, gold Garuda statues, Oriental books, prized tea sets, and boxes and jars of your favourite teas.
