Healthy Drinks for Athletes
Anyone who is active in sports tries to enhance his performance by taking different supplements to meet his special physical needs. Energy drinks have become a popular ingredient to the equation of an athlete's successful development. It is no wonder why these liquids have become a big market among consumers, attracting even non professionals and non players to drink them.
One of the most well known brands of power drinks is Red Bull. Not everyone knows that this drink was based on a Thai product named "Krating Daeng", which translates to "Red Bull", that became popular in Asia from the 1970s to 1980s. At present there are more brands that have become famous among sports enthusiasts. Gatorade is another favourite popularised in America. These drinks are saleable because they give a quick boost of energy and make you feel alert when you need to stay awake and active.
The reason for this is because power drinks have a lot of caffeine and sugar in them. This concern has led some health experts to question the side effects of energy drinks. Some believe that taking too much of these liquids can do more harm to our body as too much caffeine causes insomnia, rapid heartbeat, and increased blood pressure to name a few. Too much sugar, on the other hand, will lead to weight problems.
Despite these studies, energy drinks are still favoured by athletes all over. It is recommended, however, that you read the labels and ingredients before you take a power drink and consult health experts about their possible side effects.
